Neural Network Prediction Method â⬠Free Samples to Students
Question: Discuss about the Neural Network Prediction Method. Answer: Introduction FiveStar is a software development organisation this based in Australia. Its operations are spread over two building inside the same campus where in one building its software development team works in a room consists of ten workstations, and in another building, its technical development management team also works with ten computers. While in the same building, the administrative staffs uses twenty computers and each of the networks are connected to a server that provides various services to the workstations for different purposes. Totally, there are 250 employees in the organisation. However, less people are required to work on the computers. The peripherals and the techniques used to build the network is quite outdated in current time and there are many issues in this network that minimises the work speed beside creating the problems. Therefore, it is required to find out the problems in order to be capable to meet the future outcomes of the organisation. The current network is made of three LANs spreading over the two buildings. Admin department uses 20 workstations and a server that are connected together using a switch while in the two other departments the scenario is also same there the devices are also connected over the same switch. Those switches are connected to the router through a single channel from the switch. The reason that the LANs are interconnected over a single channel reduces the data transfer speed while multiple networks are communicating with each other it causes the bottleneck situation. The total number of end devices on the network is 40. Each of the devices requires at least 10Mbps connection to make the communication flawlessly. However, the bottlenecks are the connections that are made of 100Mbps connectivity cables management. While, the network requires every channel to be minimum of (40*10Mbps) 400Mbps to transmit data flawlessly. Current Network Currently the workstations are all connected physically with the switches and those switches are also connected with the router physically. Workstation Switches Servers Printers Routers UTP Cat 5 Cabling The proposed network removes all the switches from the network architecture to reduce the cabling for the network. Where for the software developers new Laptops are allotted that are connected to the network through wireless routers. It reduces the complexity of the network and the procedures to diagnose the problems. On the other hand, the organisation is also opened its new branch that is located 200 kilometres from the current location. Therefore, it is not possible to connect those campuses using personal area network. In this case, Cloud is the best solution that is also less costly to implement. The network services providers are available to provide the tunnelling for the communication happen between the two branches at the desired speed. Laptops Wireless Routers Routers Clouds Objectives of the future network The main objectives of the network are developing a modern network for the organisation. Using those channels to establishing video conferences between the different locations of the organisation it will require its channels to support heavy bandwidth for this purposes. The proposed future network for the organisation will be modified from different perspective as the current plan does not allow users to use office software packages that are unavailable in the system along with the facility of email and Internet. Moving the total system connecting with cloud will provide the users to access the portal from anywhere earlier which was not possible as the network was so simple and it was detached from cloud or the internet too. The new branch that is opened 200 kilometres away required strong connectivity with the current network to maintain the productivity of the organisation management. Different departments work for different purposes. However, through establishing a secure and reliable network the logical distance between the two premises will reduce to zero that will benefit the organisation to focus more on the development phases of the organisation. The organisation needed to upgrade their old network to boost up the network speed and to furthermore add the double number of devices to the network. The employees of the organisation will be able to access the company resources from their office premises as well as from their home as a result of migration towards cloud. Advantages over the old network The Network device will now all run on the desktop operating systems instead of the server OS to reduce the network load which will see a major change in the performance of services. All the departments of the organisation will be connected through fibre optic channels which will allow the departments or branches to establish seamless video conferencing with each other in order to work on the projects which will reduce the efforts of meetings by visiting the main campus from the branch office. There will be plenty of SaaS or software as a service will be in-use that will provide the developers to work on the projects even when they are on the go. Earlier the organisational devices form the network which was very conventional. Therefore, there was no scope for internet usage on the organisational network along with the access to the emailing services. Software were also not directly installed on the system as the desktop workstations were all running on the windows server OS. It was t he server OS which on behalf choose the services and applications are to be used. The high end devices in the web development department will allow to process the developed contents more quickly or faster that are videos, graphics and animations as it requires more resources to process. Moving to internet for providing outsider access to the network will require to install network firewalls in the organisation to monitor and control the security of the network. National Debt an Example of the Topic Economics Essays by
National Debt by Expert Prof J.F | 16 Dec 2016 National debt is also called government debt or Public debt. National debt can be described as the money a government (central, federal, municipal or local government) owes. Governments in normal circumstances are supported by taxpayers money; the taxpayers comprise people the government represents. Therefore any debt any government owes can be seen as an indirect debt to the taxpayers. When a government spends more than it taxes it runs a deficit thereby accumulating debt over the time because it forces the government to borrow from within or outside. Need essay sample on "National Debt" topic? We will write a custom essay sample specifically for you Proceed Government debt can be broken down into two: internal debt and external debt. Internal debt is money owed to lenders that are within the country. External debt on the other hand is the debt the government owes foreign lenders. The governments often borrows by issuing securities in form of government bonds or sovereign bonds and bills that form what are called treasury securities or securities that the government borrows from the central bank. Sometimes unethical and hard-pressed governments may resort to borrowing from commercial banks. Government debt can also be classified according to the repayment period that the particular debt takes. There is short-term debt, long-term debt and medium term debt. Short-term debt is normally one year and less, long-term debt is 10 years and more while medium term debt falls in between the two. Money creation The process of producing or issuing money is termed as money creation. Money is normally created in 2 ways. Manufacturing of physical money in a mint. This encompasses manufacture of coins and notes (paper currency) Through loaning out the physical money several times by what is termed as fractional-reserve lending. Creation of money by mint Minting of money can be categorized into competitive or nationalized. When the minting is competitive it means that competing manufacturers are in business of manufacturing coins. The mints first have to purchase billion from the billion markets. A billion is best described as bulk precious metals that are used for coin manufacture. Purity and mass are the critical aspects of the billion rather than the face value. Once they buy the billion the mints manufacture coins out of it, which they use to pay for their production costs and retain some profit. On the other hand, nationalized minting is where a particular government monopolizes coin manufacturing. In this system the government owns and operates mint that have the responsibility of producing coinage for the national system. Nationalized minting can either be minting with a right to exchange or can be minting with no right to exchange. Creation of money through practical reserve system Money multiplier is the most common money generating mechanism. This mechanism generally measures the level by which a commercial banking system increases the level of money supply. http://www.prosperityuk.com/prosperity/articles/moneymake.html#3 Central banks play the role of controlling the amount of money that the system creates. The central bank does this by placing reserve ratios on the commercial banks. These ratios set the primary deposits proportion the banks are required to hold as reserve qualifier. The reserve ratio is a very important factor because it prevents banks from generating excessive amount of money that would harm the economy of the country and also it safeguards the banks from cash shortages when large deposits are withdrawn. International Trade International Trade as the name suggests is the exchange of goods and services between one country and another. It can also be defined as trade across international boundaries. Traders in an international set up can be classified either as exporters or importers. The antecedent to international trade was barter systems or transactions where goods and other valuable items were exchanged The factors that greatly encourage international trade include lower production costs on one country as opposed to another, which means goods and services from one region are cheaper. Another factor is the availability of specialized industries in a particular region that is not available in another one, this means that a certain region has the capacity and capability to produce certain goods and services in a very specialized manner because of the availability of advanced technology. Also lack or surplus of natural resources plays a major role in international trade. International Trade is an important component of economics and can be considered the Engine that runs most nations and contributes greatly to GDP of most countries. If not for international trade must countries would be limited to the goods and services that are only available within the country itself, this of course would basically make the growth of many economies grind to a halt. International trade has continued to evolve and change especially with the advancement of technology and perhaps the latest technological advancement that has impacted the trade significantly is the Internet, which has turned the world into a small global village. Reformers and activists urged people not to buy clothing or products from these companies who made it a habit to put children to work and turn out their products by force. By conducting this ââ¬Å"strike,â⬠the reformers had hoped that by not supporting child labor practices, that the children would no longer be forced to make products like clothing, ropes and cotton in the mills. The United States Congress passed laws in 1916, and again in 1919, but the Supreme Court struck down these laws. However, in 1938, the Supreme Court ended up passing the Fair Labor Standards Act, which did not permit children under a certain age to work, and for those...

Sex trafficking - Research Paper Example With the famine of 1871 in northern China, he sells off Lalu to a brothel and later to a slave merchant travelling to America. This was the turning point in the life of the young girl. This novel guides on this discussion on sex trafficking, giving leads on how victims get lured and evaluating possible solutions in the light of the findings. Indeed, sex trafficking is a solvable act of inhumanity. In this early society, sex trafficking was widely spread across the board. Not even were children spared as Li, the sex trafficker in the novel, traffics children together with her other victims. This comes to light when she quarrels Lalu for not getting the fraudulent customs clearing procedures right, claiming that ââ¬Å"Even children: some of them are only ten, eleven years old. Childrenâ⬠were much better than she was (Gold 95). The cultural beliefs that treated women as objects meant for the pleasure of men, who were believed to have the sole rights to working. This therefore meant that women could be used however men would like to have their pleasure fulfilled. Comparably, Moser (226) cites the US Department of Health and Human Services documenting sex trafficking as the second largest and fastest criminal industry worldwide. Women and children still comprise the majority of victims at about 80%, with two million children estimated to be in the commercial sex trade. Borrowing statistics from the United Nations, the researcher further estimates the market value for this crime at over $32 billion. Before the year 2000, sex trafficking was not prosecuted as a crime in itself but under other crimes such as promotion of prostitution. This points out at the societyââ¬â¢s rigidity to appreciating women as an equal gender to their male counterparts. They still considered a woman as an object who should not ââ¬Å"work like a man, a laborerâ⬠so that they can pass as marriage-compliant (Gold 356). Having pointed out that sex trafficking still remains

Literature review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
Literature review Example The Chinese government has legalised informal financing with the conditions that the money must not be raised from the general public and the maximum rate of interest must not exceed quadruple of the interest charged by formal institutions. Since ROSCAs typically fix the interest through bidding among the potential loan receivers, they exceed the interest limit of the government and are thus considered illegal and operate under cover (Chen, 2003; OECD Publishing,Ã 2005; Li and Hsu, 2009). Informal lending institutions are officially allowed to charge much higher than formal lending institutions, which is why the cost of borrowing from such sources becomes very expensive. Judging by their resources and capabilities, this puts additional financial burden on private businesses. However, most of the loan applications by private businesses to banks and financial institutions get rejected primarily on grounds of absence of a previous credit history, sufficient collaterals and guarantee o f repayment. Thus, whereas formal lending institutions shy away from granting loans to private businesses, the credit crunch created due to non-availability of finance is being increasingly tended to by informal lenders. The article tries to get an insight into the financial system of China and analyses the dynamics of formal and informal financial institutions (Tanaka and Molnar, 2008). Research and Analysis The literature primarily wants to estimate the sizes of formal and informal lending markets, the criteria based on which loans are granted in each of these markets and the propensity of private businesses to borrow from the formal and informal lending institutions. To fulfil its objectives, the authors Kensuke Tanaka and Margit Molnar primarily use data from modified copy of a 2002 survey, conducted on 2500 private enterprises in China by the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, modified by Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2004 (Chinese University of Hong Kong, 200 4). Using the data, the authors have drawn a perspective of the finance industry of China as given below: Business size by sales (million ?) upto 1 1 to 3 3 to 10 10 to 20 20 to 50 more than 50 Businesses with borrowed funds 46% 57% 61% 64% 71% 58% Borrowings from formal lenders 14% 23% 28% 35% 44% 36% Borrowings from informal lenders 20% 18% 15% 12% 10% 8% Informal borrowings in products sector 23% 24% 20% 26% 9% 4% Informal borrowings in services sector 44% 35% 9% 12% 12% 9% The authors find that informal lenders are a significant source of finance for small private businesses, since formal lenders find them the riskiest due to unavailability of past credit history. Moreover, borrowing from informal lenders is more rampant in services sector than the products sector, chiefly because they have less tangible goods to keep as collateral. The authors compare the calculations with the findings of a survey conducted by Central Finance University that stated that the least developed area s of China (which coincidentally host the smallest private businesses) have the highest share of credit from informal lenders (Central Finance University of China, 2005). Next, the authors try to understand the

What are the main arguments for and against the horizontal Essay
What are the main arguments for and against the horizontal proliferation of nuclear weapons - Essay Example It led to the loss of nearly a million civilian lives and total destruction of the city. Even those who survived this event, continued to suffer under effects of radioactive radiation for many subsequent years. A generation of Japanese children were born with congenital defects as a result of mothersââ¬â¢ exposure to radiation. Political leaders of today will have to consider their nuclear weapons program in the backdrop of this ghastly human disaster. The rest of the essay will point out the pros and cons of horizontal proliferation of nuclear weapons. It is very difficult to talk of the merits and demerits of horizontal proliferation of nuclear weapons without considering the effects of vertical proliferation. Horizontal proliferation is the acquisition of know-how, technology and material by a nation-state or a political/militant group so as to manufacture nuclear weapons of their own. The term ââ¬Ëhorizontal proliferationââ¬â¢ is used to refer to nation-states or similar entities that do not already have nuclear weapons but aspire and endeavour toward this goal. Vertical proliferation is the process of consolidation and improvisation of nuclear weapons by nation-states already well-established in making nuclear weapons. It is fair to say that vertical proliferation induces horizontal proliferation, as the latter group feel more and more insecure with their militarily well-endowed neighbouring states. In the years after the Second World War, Cold War was the political theatre upon which various nations placed their rationa le for developing nuclear weapons. Yet, even as recently as a decade ago, only a handful of nations were classified under the nuclear-enabled category of states. (Krepon, 2012, p.44) Recent geo-political developments, especially in the wake of September 11, 2001 terror strikes on the United States have significantly altered the internal political dynamics of many nations in the Middle-East and Asia. Analysis of Models for Emotional Health
Analysis of Models for Emotional Health Analyze Emotional Health The Biomedical model is an intangible model of illness that eliminates psychological and social factors and consists of only biologic factors in an effort to comprehend a persons medical disorder or illness. According to Ragin (2011), this model points out that health is the nonexistence of disease and therefore a person in good health will be free of any atypical biological changes in the body system. This model also suggests that when a disease takes place, finding and eliminating the illness will re-establish a person to good health. Complementary and alternative medicine is a specific term utilized to symbolize a group of various medical modalities, practices, products and healthcare system, which are not normally believed to be part of conventional medicine (NCCAM, 2012). Nevertheless, a number of these medical modalities have grow to be increasingly incorporated to conventional healthcare institutions the biomedical profession preserves a clear place of domination within healthcare institutions and these modalities are consequently frequently complementary to a certain extent than alternative to conventional practice. According to Keshet et al. (n.d), most of the research literature on the relationship between Complementary Medicine and biomedicine is controversial and dispute that the addition of Complementary Medicine to the mainstream health system eventually preserves biomedical domination within it. Keshet et al. (n.d) found in their study that integration of Complementary Medicine results in various attitudes and interpretations concerning the nature of integration, how it is and must be practiced as well as what it means. Most of the interviewed health practitioners and some of the patients understood that Complementary Medicine treatments helped to deal with the emotional and psychological needs of patients, which would if not be met. Complementary Medicine practice, as this study illustrates, seeks to influence concurrently mind and body. It is consistently made clear as connecting some sort of imperative power, be this energy or spirit. The Biopsychosocial model is an approach stating that biological, psychological, and social factors, all take part in an important function in human performance in the perspective of diseaseor illness. Without a doubt, health is best assumed in conditions of a mixture of biological, psychological, and social factors rather than merely in biological stipulations. This is in disparity to the previously mentioned biomedical model that proposes every disease or illness process can be clarified in terms of a fundamental variation from normal function. Ragin (2011) indicated the biopsychosocial model supports the belief approved by many in health psychology in which well-being is determined by a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors. Therefore the psychological influences on health consist of emotions, social support systems, health behaviors and personal traits (p. 185). According to Taylor et at. (2013), Sickle cell disease is a hereditary blood disorder and for the most part frequent genetic disorder. On the other hand, aspects except biologic factors, such as psychologic and sociologic aspects, are linked with chronic pain in adults with Sickle cell disease. The Biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain is an extensively used model of chronic pain projected in response to the pervasiveness of chronic pain and the necessity for a further holistic approach to chronic pain management. The Biopsychosocial model of chronic pain support conceptualizations of the interactive methods involved in health and illness. The largely objective of the Biopsychosocial model of chronic pain is to assist the person to become a vigorous participant in life management skills and to become skilled at new ways of thinking about and coping with chronic pain. Spirituality is a vital aspect in the chronic pain experience of adults with Sickle cell disease that has obtained little or no attention. In studies of adults with Sickle cell disease, those persons with elevated levels of spirituality or even religiosity stated having lesser pain intensity and reported they were able to cope better with their pain. Ragin (2011) stated that the Wellness Model includes the same factors from the Biopsychosocial model such as psychological, social, and emotional in addition of two new dimensions which are quality of life and spirituality. Some healthcare practitioners think more of as life saving procedures without taking into consideration that the procedure could diminished the personââ¬â¢s quality of life and also affect the individualââ¬â¢s spiritual well-being. In regards to spirituality, researchers have being studying the relationship between spirituality and have found that spirituality is important for many individuals to acquire optimal health. Many studies show that spirituality plays a health enhancing task for many people and in many cultures. Reese et al. (2012) make an emphasis on the importance of considering quality of life and spirituality in the individualââ¬â¢s treatment and they defined wellness as a way of life leaning toward optimal health and well-being, wherein the body, mind, and spirit are incorporated by the person to live life more fully within his or her community. The social ecological models were developed to promote the understanding of the active interrelations between assorted personal and environmental factors. The social ecological models include the physical and psychological environmental standpoints as well as the role of health systems and health policy on the person health outcomes. The social environment which includes the familial, interpersonal, and cultural factors that affects the personââ¬â¢s emotional stated of well-being. This model also includes health systems and policy, specifically those agencies and regulations that defines the constitution of health care and standardize its services as discrete determinants of health outcomes Ragin (2011). According to Golden and Earp (2012), social ecological models that explain the interactive characteristics of persons and environments which trigger health outcomes have been suggested to lead public health practice. The health promotion field is frequently criticized for concentrating on lifestyle modification while disregarding related issues that influence health. Social ecological models differentiate persons as entrenched within bigger social systems and explain the interactive characteristics of persons and environments that lie beneath health outcomes. Ecological models suppose not only that multiple levels of control are present but also that these levels are interactive and reinforcing. They mentioned that physical activity, nutrition, and smoking interventions and especially spirituality were more likely interventions addressing topics to take on a social ecological approach that focused transformation at multiple levels beyond the individual target population. Healthcare p ractitioners may well benefit from applying more extensive intervention configurations intended for these settings and topics. As a mental health practitioner, I have always used the mind, body spirit approach in my practice. I feel very comfortable with this approach as I understand that spiritual and psychological perceptive go together when it comes to examine what is affecting our health. Emotions play a vital part in the personââ¬â¢s overall health. Although there are no specific ages and groups that this approach might be most or least appropriate for, it seems that Latino adults are more willingly to adopt it. People often forget the significance of spiritual and emotional health consequences on our overall wellness. Wellness needs to consist of physical, mental and spiritual health to make certain the entire body remains well. As a certified spiritual counselor, I have used spirituality as an approach to help people with different types of traumas as it provides a sense of purpose and protection as well as a sense of empowerment. According to Hipolito et al. (2014), spirituality has been thought in a number of ways and the Western view of spirituality emphasized the appreciation of a spiritual realm or higher reality external of the individual. Despite of how it is thought or measured, an increasing body of research has started documenting the protective effects of spirituality, predominantly following experience to violent traumatic actions. The majority studies take in consideration the positive role spirituality plays in the trauma to mental health development including better psychological well-being, life satisfaction, increased self-esteem, and decreased depression. Hipolito et al. (2014) found out that spirituality did not affect mental health or well-being. On the other hand it affected mental health or well-being indirectly through its positive effect on the individualââ¬â¢s sense of empowerment. This study is important as it is the first to scrutinize the prospective empowering affects of spirituality in the post-trauma period. The findings recommend that a conviction in a higher reality not only empowers the individual but also increases peopleââ¬â¢s mental health or well-being. The results emphasize the need to offer both traumas informed and spirituality receptive care.

Hemingway :: essays research papers fc
Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961), born in Oak Park, Illinois, started his career as a writer in a newspaper office in Kansas City at the age of seventeen. After the United States entered the First World War, he joined a volunteer ambulance unit in the Italian army. Serving at the front, he was wounded, was decorated by the Italian Government, and spent considerable time in hospitals. After his return to the United States, he became a reporter for Canadian and American newspapers and was soon sent back to Europe to cover such events as the Greek Revolution. During the twenties, Hemingway became a member of the group of expatriate Americans in Paris, which he described in his first important work, The Sun Also Rises (1926). Equally successful was A Farewell to Arms (1929), the study of an American ambulance officer's disillusionment in the war and his role as a deserter. Hemingway used his experiences as a reporter during the civil war in Spain as the background for his most ambitious novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940). Among his later works, the most outstanding is the short novel, The Old Man and the Sea (1952), the story of an old fisherman's journey, his long and lonely struggle with a fish and the sea, and his victory in defeat. Hemingway - himself a great sportsman - liked to portray soldiers, hunters, bullfighters - tough, at times primitive people whose courage and honesty are set against the brutal ways of modern society, and who in this confrontation lose hope and faith. His straightforward prose, his spare dialogue, and his predilection for understatement are particularly effective in his short stories, some of which are collected in Men Without Women (1927) and The Fifth Column and the First Forty-Nine Stories (1938). Hemingway died in Idaho in 1961. Ethical Decisions Scenario Analysis Essay
Reflection Question: Discuss whether you generally make ethical decisions using a traditional or a modern ethical model. Provide an example using an experience you have had in your daily life. I would have to say that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. Being true to oneself is ethically speaking. I used to get detention in HS and being an honor student really hurt me. Peer pressure was another feeling that couldnââ¬â¢t be surpassed. Stress and anxiety are add-ons to oneââ¬â¢s life experience. I have both. Depression is yet another I have not really dealt with. These feelings are not mutual and do not come easily. Ethics are the study of moral standards and how they affect conduct, by definition. Traditional ethics are from the past and are from the way that people thought about morals and the way that life should be lived back then. Modern ethics came from traditional ethics, but were revised a bit to fit in with new times and with new ways of thinking. Ethics are a part of everyone ââ¬â¢s lives. Both are similar, but I believe that the development with the two came from within a person. Someone did not just make up how a person feels inside. A person knows right from wrong from being taught. With thatà being said, a person would know that stealing is wrong and that there would be something inside of them saying something like if you take that money from that person that is wrong and you will feel bad if you have good morals. Both forms of ethics have changed through the years and are now at what is called the modern ethics that we have adjusted to fit into todayââ¬â¢s society. I would think that the biggest connection between the two forms of ethics is that it is based on morals and how a person feels deep down inside. I feel that it is based on what your heart tells you.

Free Essays on Teenage Parenthood
another peer has stated about them. For me, teenage years were a very different scenario. I attended high school just like my peers with an enormous difference. Directly after the school day ended, I had adult responsibilities. My countless nights of lost sleep were not spent thinking about the prom or stressing about what someone else had said about me. The lack of sleep I suffered was due to caring for an infant. I also quickly learned the emotional hardships of becoming a teenage parent. Friends became scarce; I had nothing in common with peers outside the classroom. Most did not want to hear about my son reaching memorable milestones and most certainly did not want to hear about me spending the entire night in the emergency room with him. Free Essays on Teenage Parenthood Free Essays on Teenage Parenthood Teenage Parenthood There are many struggles involved with becoming a teenage parent. I have endured varying degrees of support and negativity from peers, and school staff. Simultaneously, I became a statistic. I was a typical teenager, I had many dreams, and high hopes of a bright future. This was all put on hold following the birth of my son between my sophomore and junior years of high school. Determined to beat all odds, I unselfishly placed my own ambitions in a back seat position to care for the life of another. Fortunately, I had patient and understanding parents. They pledged to care for my baby during the day while I continued my high school education, but stressed he would be my sole responsibility when not at school. Most teenagers spend these years hanging out with friends, attending after school activities, and talking on the phone for countless hours. Typical teens also use a great deal of emotional energy stressing over seemingly insignificant details such as the perfect prom attire and negative words another peer has stated about them. The Spread of Islamic Civilization DBQ essays
The Spread of Islamic Civilization DBQ essays Although not the first monotheistic (believe in one god) religion, the Muslims were still able to have a very large impact on world history. All though they were unsuccessful in conquering originally, the Muslims eventually succeeded in spreading the religion of Islam throughout lower Europe and upper Africa. The Islam religion is still present in modern day society. Many Muslims, at least once in their lifetime, make a journey called the Hajj to the holy city of Mecca. This is the city where the founder of Islam (Mohammed) was born. Over hundreds of centuries, Islam became one of the most influential civilizations in the world, by gaining hundreds upon thousands of worshipers and by conquering religions and civilizations that didn't cooperate immediately. During the lifetime of Mohammed, he gained many followers, which help spread the newly born Islam religion. To the people who followed him the ways of the Islamic god, Allah, Mohammed said that, He shall bring him into the gardens of [Paradise],(Doc. 2). Also, Mohamed said that Allah would punish all those who didn't follow this offered way of life (Doc. 2). Mohammed was an Arab prophet of Islam. At the age of 40 he began to preach as God's prophet of the true religion. Mohammed created a very religious way of life. Then after 622, he began to convert Arabia to Islam. This way of getting people to convert to Islam was unfortunately not the only way. Although peace was shown through Islam, the Muslim people also used war as a way to convert people. They conquered and killed many, probably to show that they were a strong, united religion. Many nations feared the Muslims (Doc. 4). Other civilizations called them, raging tigers, (Doc. 4) which most easily can be identified as fierce wo rriers. Over the centuries, Islam was spread so well by war, most parts of the world have a large amount of Islamic people, mostly because of this form of conquest. Even though ...

Used a different classification method to describe types of living Essay
Used a different classification method to describe types of living environments - Essay Example Friedman helped me come up with three common classes of upper class, middle class, and low class living environments that I will discuss in the following paper. The low class of a household considers the house a gallery. The house obviously should be clean and organized. The position of each item, whether hanging, resting, or on the floor is extremely composed (Friedman 127). The color scheme harmonizes with the excellent lighting of the room. Such a design should make one feel experience something similar to one of the images shown in any edition of the ââ¬Å"Architectural Digest.â⬠The latest styles, expert touches, and thoroughly chosen pieces are the marks of the low class. Under the middle class, practicality is the main theme. Middle classes are minimalists who believe in just acquiring what is needed and ignoring or discarding anything supplementary. Concerns about the surrounding play a vital role when purchasing commodities with extremely few properly chosen items (Friedman 159). Such a household will take pleasure in portraying souvenirs from a recent trip along with hanging some framed images or paintings. A middle class household will refrain from too much consumption and will attempt to fit as much utility as possible from every item. Lastly, the household of an upper class individual or family is full of both necessary and complementary things. Finding extra space or room on a wall for hanging pieces of art in such a household becomes difficult for a designer. Reading material is scattered across the room (Friedman 171). Paper cutouts and memory notes are jammed under magnets on the fridge and stuck on walls in other rooms. An upper class resident appears to focus less on the appearance of the house and more on coziness. Reducing stress is nearly a slogan for an upper class household. As a result, an exceptionally clean show house is not a priority for those in the upper class group. For instance, putting dishes

Managing Cultural Diversity in the Workplace Environment Essay
Managing Cultural Diversity in the Workplace Environment - Essay Example Cultural diversity refers to people belonging to diverse cultures working in one organisation, which is rampant in Singapore because of its history of immigrants and also due to its growing economic prospects. The present discourse focuses on the way Singapore manages its cultural diversity. The topic explores various governmental initiatives as well as organisational policies towards diversity management in this region. During the process, a critical view of the policies and practices and their impact on other aspects of organisational performance would be placed to assess the effectiveness of the policies and practices. Moreover, possible recommendations to tackle these challenges would be suggested based on organisational practices. 2. Background: While the effects of globalization have been so profound that all organisations have to adapt to the changes, diversity is one of the strategies adopted for sustainability and performance. This reflects in their policies and practices wi th respect to human resources management. Though the western countries adopted this route much earlier, it is relatively newer concept in most of the Eastern nations (Mor-Barack, 2005). This does not mean that the Eastern nations did not employ people from different cultures and ethnic groups; but just that the organisations have started adopting policies and practices to encourage and, to an extent, suit multicultural and diverse populations during last few decades. The most important requirement for managing diversity comes from equal rights act and policies congruent with this act, which create favourable social, legal and organisational environment to all groups of people. Secondly, organisational policies and practices that encourage and support diversified workforce. 3. Rationale: Globalization has provided extraordinary benefits to organisations, which has enticed many organisations to enter the global market. This has further increased the numbers of people from different ba ckgrounds, cultures, races and ethnic groups to work together at different locations. On the other hand, organisations in some sectors are known to have moved to other places in order to flourish because the legislation there was more conducive to their strategies; for example, Singapore has relaxed legislation related to bioresearch, unlike in the Western countries. Many Western bioresearch organisations shifted their base to Singapore (Huat, 2011). Much before such movements, Singapore is known for cultural diversity because it was established because of immigrants from different parts of the world, which created a plural and highly diverse and ethnic society (Chen-Tung, Ong & Chen, 1980). With such high cultural diversity, Singapore is one of the most advanced and flourished nations in the Asia-Pacific region. Many reasons make Singapore as the focus of discussion related to management of cultural diversity in organisations. The immense industrial growth in Singapore suggests tha t workplace diversity, specifically cultural diversity, is being managed effectively; this fact is further reinforced by the immense movement that is continuing, and potential that still exists in this part of the world. Secondly, Singapore hosts a variety of cultural mix, which makes it even more difficult for diversity management for organisations if they have to cater to the cultural differences of all groups that are a part of them. At least these two critical reasons are enough to explore

The US Economy vs.International Economy Research Paper
The US Economy vs.International Economy - Research Paper Example The American central bank wants to keep its interest rates low (to almost zero) to spur the economy but Mr. Hoenig thinks otherwise. In contrast, the Australian economy has not suffered as greatly as the US during recent financial crisis because its economy is a bit insulated from the global economy. In fact, its big four banks are trying to hide their profits because the economy did relatively well last year. In addition, the big four banks are suspected of using accounting tricks to manage their earnings and show smaller profits than what they actually were (Potts, 2009, p. 1) because of possible political and social backlash. Moreover, the Australian authorities at its Reserve Bank are not planning to reduce its interest rates because the economy is doing better than expected. To put it another way, the need to reduce rates is not urgent because the recession was not as deep as it had originally feared. The Australian economy has recovered well enough their banks raise interest rates they pay on client deposits (Potts, 2010, p. 1). Its economy is forecast to grow by 3.5% next year and its currency has apprecia ted 20% against the US dollar since middle of the year (Rogow & Glynn, 2010, p. 1). Both economies are fully plugged to a global economy but Australia did not suffer from a housing crisis and demand for its resource exports is strong. Rogow, G. & Glynn, J. (2010, December 15). Revelation Essay Essay Example for Free
Revelation Essay Essay The opening lines of the poem initiate the main themes; ââ¬Å"Black bullâ⬠introduces one of the themes which are gender stereotyping. This suggests the bull is powerful, strong and very angry. Females are then introduced in the poem, ââ¬Å"eggs and milkâ⬠. This suggests females are pale, delicate and easily broken. The poet highlights the theme of stereotypes by placing ââ¬Å"black bullâ⬠above ââ¬Å"eggs and milkâ⬠. This is to effectively state that the black bull is on top of eggs and milk which emphasises on the importance of gender stereotyping. The second theme is introduced which is innocence and experience, ââ¬Å"They call him Bob ââ¬â as though perhaps you could reduce a monster with the charm of a friendly nameâ⬠. Tone her is cynical. The bull has been given a cheery, friendly name which is a irrelevant name for the harsh animal. The key words of the quote are ââ¬Å"monsterâ⬠and ââ¬Å"friendlyâ⬠. This is a very striking contrast between the idea of the name Bob being friendly, cheery and approachable, but in actual fact behind the cheery name lays a monster. The quote, ââ¬Å"at the threshold of his outhouseâ⬠, is the turning point in the story. Look more:à first poem for you essay This is a symbolic quote that states you must go over a line before starting a new life. In the poem a young girl is standing in the area between safety and danger. The line is significant as the pause creates a series of tension building up to a sense of danger. The girlââ¬â¢s initial perceptions of the creature are conveyed in, ââ¬Å"At first only black, and the hot reek of himâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ The girlââ¬â¢s sensory impressions of the bull are that the word ââ¬Å"blackâ⬠represents danger. The words ââ¬Å"hot reekâ⬠represents the smell and stench of the bull. Her over all sensory impression is the smell of the bulls pungent aroma that is its natural smell and the limited sight gives her a sense of the unknown danger. The poet continues to reference the main theme of gender stereotyping by developing it, ââ¬Å"We was immenseâ⬠, This quote highlights masculinity and power. It shows that males are bigger, more powerful and the dominate gender. The theme of innocence and experience is also developed, and the bull and the girl are compared to each other. The girl is full of fear and innocence. She is extremely intimidated by the bulls presence. The poet powerfully, reinforces the contrasting thematic dichotomies suggested in verse one. In the first instance this is done by including details in verse two which contract with details from the first verse. The poet has reinforced the theme of innocence and experience as he shows that the bull knows he is restrained. Also reinforces the theme of gender stereotyping ââ¬â girl and boy. This is done as it is dark and the girl cannot see what the bull is doing, whilst the girl is unaware of this, the bull is trying to break free from where he is chained up too. The poet condenses the contrast by highlighting them in a few lines of verse two. ââ¬Å" I had always half known he existedâ⬠Here, the poet points out that the girl had always knew the bull was there, just she had never seen the bull and didnââ¬â¢t want to come to terms with the reality. Verse three is effective as it shows that the girl is fearful of her encounter with the bull. The girl is terrified by the bulls presence and runs away from the farm. She runs past a group of boys. Here the writer links the bull and the boys together by the use of harsh sound effects. It is important that this link is made as it makes a direct comparison between the bulls aggression and the boys cruelty. It highlights that they both share the same characteristics. Finally, the girls attention is redirected to the parlous state of the eggs and milk, due to the flight, ââ¬Å"scared of the eggs shatteringâ⬠While sheââ¬â¢s too busy protecting the eggs it shows the reader that females are protective towards anything precious. In the girls eyes the eggs and milk are precious, and she wants to protect them from any harm. ââ¬Å"in case the milk should spillâ⬠The precarious position of the milk is highlighted in the small hands of a weak girl, who has been charged with the responsibility of looking after the eggs and milk. She is protecting what is important to her. The poet seems to be suggesting that her experience shows that females are scared of males and have to protect themselves from any harm. Females protect all forms of life, they are caring and sensible creatures.

Eli Wiesels Night and Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities :: Synthesis Essays
Eli Wiesel's ââ¬Å"Nightâ⬠and Charles Dickens' ââ¬Å"A Tale of Two Citiesâ⬠Life is not always fair. There is no real explanation for this. In almost all constitutions people are created equal but very rarely are all of them treated this way. But before the French revolution happened very few people even had these rights. Then when WW II came around the Jewish people were targeted by the Nazis. They were stripped of all their rights and basically became slaves to the Nazis party. The Nazis tried to rid Europe of the Jewish people and if they had their way eventually the whole world would be free of this religious group. The character that people show through times of adversity can define them individually and as an entire group. In ââ¬Å"Nightâ⬠Eli Wiesel faces life and death everyday in the Nazis concentration camp. While in ââ¬Å"A tale of two citiesâ⬠by Charles Dickens, Carton saves Darnayââ¬â¢s life twice once during a trial and another at the guillotine even though Carton resents Darnay shows mans true potential. ââ¬Å"It was the best of times, it was the worst of timesâ⬠(Dickens), this famous quote can be applied to more than just the opening of A Tale of Two Cities. In this very moment there are great things going on all over the world. Things like scientific discovers and diplomatic resolutions to international problems are being done right now. There are however many problems happening too. Civil wars and ethnic cleansings occurring in Africa the tsunami that devastated many Asian islands were people are struggling to survive. Yet with all of these things man does not give up we fight on through and that could be mans greatest asset. To fight on even though there doesnââ¬â¢t seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel. The most horrific of tragedies ever to happen to man was due to mans evil. The holocaust was a tragedy where over 11 million innocent people were killed for no other reason than there religious beliefs. The most amazing thing though is not the cruelty of man but instead the strength of the human race to fight through even though so many have lost their lives for no reason. Not to say that they never had doubts of whether they were going to make it through. Even the people who before this never had a waiver in their faith had trouble staying strong in belief that God will save them.

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury :: Ray Bradburys Fahrenheit 451
Fahrenheit 451 Imagine a society where books are prohibited, where the basic rights made clear in the First Amendment hold no weight and society is merely a brainwashed, mechanical population. According to Ray Bradbury, the author of Fahrenheit 451, this depiction is actually an exaggerated forecast for the American future, and in effect is happening around us every day. Simply reading his words can incite arguments pertaining not only to the banning of books but to our government structure itself. Age-old debates about Communism are stirred by the trials of characters in Bradburyââ¬â¢s unique world. By studying the protagonist and main character, Guy Montag, and his personal challenges we can, in a sense, evaluate our own lives to insure that we donââ¬â¢t make similar mistakes. Fahrenheit 451 was written during the fifties, a period of mass paranoia, war, and technological advancement. The paranoia in the fifties was due the fear of Communism at home. People were afraid that their best friends might be Communists. This is also portrayed in the book; you are not sure until the very end if some of the characters are friend or foe. Many inventions of the fifties have advanced mirrors in the book. One might think that the author was trying to express how those inventions would ultimately resulting in the dumbing down of society. The television was coming about in the fifties and the four screen TV's in the book hampered the thought process so people would not think. While the book is definitely critiquing society and the government, readers are given many dominant themes to follow, and to find all of them requires several readings. The main plot, following Montag, illustrates the importance of making mistakes in order to grow. For example, at the very end of the book Granger (an outspoken rebel to the book-banning laws) compares mankind to a phoenix that burns itself up and then rises out of its ashes over and over again. Man's advantage is his ability to recognize when he has made an error, so that eventually he will learn not to make that mistake anymore. Remembering the faults of the past is the task Granger and his group have set for themselves. They believe that individuals are not as important as the collective mass. The symbol of the phoenix's rebirth refers not only to the cyclical nature of history and the collective rebirth of society but also to Montag's own resurrection as a new person.

I donot know how the blackboard-cleaning is related to ââ¬Å"Rajiv Gandhi Vidyutikaran YoJanaâ⬠? If automatic cleaner needs electricity, then it will be more proolematic to implement throughout India. My data related to blackboards includes all schools(private and govt. )in rural and urban India. ââ¬Ë can substantiate my conclusion with different surveys and datas prepared by govt. and non-govt. agencies that still in rural area more than half of the schools have negligible basic infrastructure. As far s Mid-day meal scheme is concerned I have worked on this in 23 blocks. ââ¬Ë know what type of food-grain comes for the food and how officials and department of education works on this? My NGO has also done survey regarding basic infrastructural facilities in government primary schools in seven districts. MOre than 40% of the schools showing different infrastructural facilities on the goverment-paper is false. Few government schools are even running on the paper only. I am not sayiing that Blackboard cleaner would not improve the situation. But,it can be used only if there will be a blackboard. If you will allow me,then I will present the datas of Planning Commission,Department of HRD(Govt. of India) and different state governments. You are lucky that you found Blackboard in the village during field- work. And,also please keep onething in mind that we were sent to those villages, where we can reach by easy transportation mode. But,there are thousands of villages in India, where even district administration and police cannot access in any extraordinary situations. hools, blackboards and other infrastuctural facilities are remote things for those villages. I appreciate your imagination for planning to adopt one BPL family by one tax-payer and Blackboard cleanerâ⬠¦ but, these poetic imagination has extreme limitationsâ⬠¦.. There are other basic needs of the infrastructure which should be addressed before thinking of automatic blackboard. May be there cou ld be alternates like running the school in shifts if the class strength is large in number. People of village can be encouraged to get together and ask thePanchayat to talk at higher level to run the school in shifts in their village. As mentioned before, electricity and maintenance problem of automatic blackboard will be an issue in villages where electricity is not there. we may need automatic blackboards in schools in rural areas but before that dont you think that their are more critical and important issues like teacher students ratio, poor quality of education and reducing high dropout rates to be addressedâ⬠¦.. The Evolution of the Car Engine
The Evolution of the Car Engine Evolution of the internal-combustion Engine An engine where processes of burning fuel takes place within an enclosed room, emitting gases that increase due to pressure that in turn supply energy, qualifies to be an internal combustion engine. The history of combustion engines dates back in the year 1680 when Christian Huygens, a Dutch physicist experimented with them (Daniels, 2003).Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Evolution of the Car Engine specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More In 1859, saw the success of development of an effective gasoline powered engine. The French engineer, Etienne Lenoir developed a double-acting, spark ignition engine that did not experience interruptions. In 1862, a French scientist, Alphonse Beau De Rochas, improved on Lennoirââ¬â¢s invention but failed to develop a four-stroke engine. A successful four-stroke engine emerged sixteen years later after Nikolaus Ottoââ¬â¢s hard work. This engine became known as Otto cycle. Another success was the two-stroke engine that Dougald Clerk completed in the same year Joseph Day improved it to a commercial success to date. In 1875, George Bryton, an American engineer tried a hand on two-stroke engine that would utilize kerosene but failed as a result of its slow pace and size (Junge, 2010). Gottlieb Daimler in 1885 built a smaller and fast paced version of the modern gas engine that had a vertical cylinder and consumed gasoline forced via the carburetor. After four years, the same American engineer invented a four-stroke engine assuming a mushroom-shaped valves and double cylinders positioned in a V-shape with a higher ratio of power to that of weight. This engine did not have the electric ignition until 1924 when inventions of one proved possible. However, gasoline engines in use today can trace their origins from Daimlerââ¬â¢s engines. American Designs of electric powered vehicles France and the Great Britain reinforced the notion of the electric powered cars in the late 1800s. The idea of developing these automobiles became a reality when Belgium assembled electric sports car that bore the name La Jamais Contente that made a world record of 68 mph for pace on land, with Camille Jà ©natzy taking credit for its design (Bellis, 2012). In 1895, the Americans directed their interest to these inventions of electric vehicles. This was after success trials of electric tricycles through A.L. Rykerââ¬â¢s works and William Morrison who developed a wagon for six passengers in 1891.Advertising Looking for essay on engineering? Let's see if we can help you! In 1897, the Philadelphia electric and Wagon Company built a fleet of taxis in New York C ity that became the beginning of establishing commercial vehicle. However, the pace of these electric vehicles developed earlier was painfully slow as they only covered 20 miles per hour. This factor was as a result of technological underdevelopment and lack of transistor technological know-how. Irrespective of their pace, they outdid their competitors of the early 19th century. They had reduced instances of moving back and forth rapidly, they emitted low level of smokes and had reduced noise linked to cars that utilized gasoline. In addition, electric vehicles did not have challenges on gear changing as their counterparts. Electric vehicles were also a tag of the well to do as they became to them city vehicles. The limited range became more of an advantage than a loss. They were a preference to a lot as they required less energy for them to start as opposed to the gasoline vehicles that made a lot of noise during ignition (Westbrook, 2001). Electric vehicle were easy to manage and operate; thus, recommended for women. Increased Popularity Lack of proper infrastructure hampered the appreciation of electric vehicles. In 1912, the bridging of this problem was through people wiring their homes for electricity key for propelling the electric vehicles. This boosted the popularity of the vehicles. At the beginning of the century, a number of 33,842 electric vehicles in the United States became registered. This was an obvious sign of acceptance as this high number of registration was far above those of other vehicles. As opposed to basic electric cars that fetched for USD 1,000 at the beginning of the century, the later versions of electric vehicles had unique interior features with expensive materials that facilitated high sales season in 1912. For challenges that came with the absence of recharging facilities, a battery swapping service established in 1896 solved this problem.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on The Evolution of the Car Engine specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Hartford Electric Light Company implemented this idea through utilizing the General Vehicle Company battery service. People bought their vehicles from General Vehicle Company with an exception of batteries. Afterwards, they would purchase electricity from Hartford Electric in batteries that were exchangeable. However, there was a monthly charge for miles covered, some fee for monthly maintenance of the car as well as its proper storage. A similar service took over and served owners of the Milburn Light Electric vehicles in Chicago state who bought cars with an exception of batteries. Hybrid vehicles A hybrid vehicle is one that utilizes more than one power means for propulsion. Vehicle manufacturers applied the concept to hybrid electric vehicles that combine one or more than one electric motor with an internal combustion engine (Ehsani, Yimin, Sebastien and Emadi 2004). The history of these cars dates back in the year 1899, a time when Dr. Ferdinand Porsche built a hybrid car that moved as a result of the gas engine that propelled an electricity generating dynamo that in turn used energy to move the electric motors in the central part of the two wheels in front. However, in the following decades, the hybrid car has undergone numerous advancements that include the invention of a generative braking. This idea works in modern hybrid cars. The Porsche car went through some modification in 1915 when Woods Motor Vehicle Manufacturers developed a double-powered hybrid car (Anderson and Judy, 2010). This car used an electric battery to drive the engine at a reduced pace of 25 km/h, and utilize gasoline engine to propel the car from a reduced speed to a maximum pace of 55 km/h. The period between 1920 and 1965 was an inactive period in terms of enormous hybrid car production. The US Congress endorsed extensive use of the electric vehicles as one of the sure ways of air pollution reduction in 1 966. A major improvement on the engine took place between 1968 and 1971 where three scientists invented a hybrid power engine. The engine adversely improved the speed of a vehicle with a relatively smaller engine that a conventional internal combustion engine needs in order to move. The ideas brought together in the system are inevitable in todayââ¬â¢s hybrids.Advertising Looking for essay on engineering? Let's see if we can help you! Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More In 1975, 352 electric vehicles got tested and as a result, the US Energy Research Development Administration created a program for promoting the hybrid technology. In 1976, the Public Law of 94/413 became effective on the electric hybrid vehicles. The key objective of the law was to collaborate with the car firms, and advance the accessories of the electric vehicles such as batteries and controllers. This is the period that Toyota developed the first electric hybrid that had a gass current hybrid cars include the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, Cadillac Escalade, 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2011 Ford Escape, 2011 GMC Sierra, 2012 Honda Civic, and 2011 Lexus CT 200H among many more. Future hybrid Current hybrid cars are a reflection of the future version that people around the globe anticipate. Designers of the current version of hybrid are contemplating on what design is next for the future hybrid vehicle. Globally, car firms have their plans of launching hybrid vehicle underway. These companie s have the challenges of considering factors such as performance, emissions, and efficiency. The future hybrid will assume all types that currently exist ranging from sports cars, sports utility vehicles and other varieties of vehicle will utilize both gas and energy (Motavalli, 2001). Maintenance is a critical issue in developments of these future hybrids. Manufacturers will have to process new spare parts for future hybrid models, and on the same note, mechanics should have the new technology so as to gain knowledge of replacing parts that breakdown. The future hybrid will be much more powerful to enhance performance and fuel efficiency. Certainly, the car designers will build them lighter than the current version to enhance fuel efficiency. Engineers will have to team up to develop solar cells that will restore power to vehicle batteries; thus, eliminating the process of charging batteries in hybrid vehicles (Duffy, 2009). In the future, designers of hybrid cars will have to look at the emission capacity. They will have to build vehicles with much more reduced rate of emission as the current emissions are doing harm to the atmosphere. There is a possibility the future hybrid may utilize Hydrogen power as opposed to the power sources in use today. The future design of the hybrid vehicles will prove more sophisticated than todayââ¬â¢s design, as the designers of today are working to see that the future design is a success. With technological advancement, any future developments of the hybrid vehicles are possible. Modern vehicles and Emission Many industry studies show that improved vehicle fuel efficiency has resulted into a drop of CO2 emissions. According to Motor Industry Association (MIA), the National Average Carbon Emission (NACE) for new vehicles of 2011 had a figure of CO2 emission below 200 grams to 197.1 grams for the first time (Motor Industry Association, 2012). This represented a drop of 2.3 percent from the previous year. The effort among to reduce CO2 emission among vehicle manufacturers started more than five years ago. The average drop of CO2 emission has been 10 percent. Most new passenger vehicles form part of this calculation. Thus, the figures presented are representative in calculating the CO2 measures. The drop is due to enhanced vehicles technology among main manufacturers in the world. The main is to meet CO2 emissions in target markets that include the US, Europe, Australia, and other emerging economies. Consumers have also changed their purchasing habits to march the environmental requirements. This has improved due to government subsidies, especially in Europe where the government facilitate the purchase of environmental friendly cars by subsidizing the costs. Most of these achievements are as a result of carbon trading scheme that aims at reducing the quantity of CO2 in the atmosphere. The target has been on the transport sector for long-term agenda on reduction. These achievements from new vehicles show that manufacturers of motor vehicles are playing their roles of combating environmental degradation, reducing greenhouse emission, and pollutions from motor vehicles. Such efforts do not involve government interventions or regulations but are rather technological breakthroughs in vehicle manufacturing. References Anderson, C. and Judy A. (2010). Outline some of the ways in which material deprivation may affect educational achievement Essay Essays
Outline some of the ways in which material deprivation may affect educational achievement Essay Essays Outline some of the ways in which material deprivation may affect educational achievement Essay Essay Outline some of the ways in which material deprivation may affect educational achievement Essay Essay Material want is when people have deficient physical resources to prolong life. and is common among low-class families. It affects educational accomplishment in many ways. including a non-nutritious diet and unequal lodging. Howard ( 2001 ) claimed that hapless nutrition leads to moo accomplishment at school because poorer places have a lower consumption of vitamins. minerals and energy which reduces childrenââ¬â¢s wellness and lowers their energy degrees. and will besides weaken their immune system. Malnourished kids will hold more clip off school due to illness. and their academic success will endure as a consequence. Attendance is affected by resort area strong-arming excessively. and this is sometimes caused by kids non having stylish or popular points ( for illustration. expensive trainers ) . If being stigmatised. kids may forge unwellness in order to jump school. and once more their classs will endure. Some kids may non hold clip to revise at place if they have to assist their parents with jobs and child care while theyââ¬â¢re at work- many parents canââ¬â¢t afford to give up work or cut down their hours if their income is low. so tasks frequently fall on the older kids. Their alteration and prep completion can besides be affected by overcrowding in the family. as a survey infinite is needed for each kid in order to accomplish academic success. Overcrowding can take to illnesses distributing around the family easier every bit good. which once more affects attending. Many parents can non afford to travel location to be in a schoolââ¬â¢s catchment country. as a consequence a batch of kids arenââ¬â¢t able to travel to the better schools and have to do bash with those in propertyless countries. The opportunities of person from a propertyless household go oning instruction to degree degree is made improbable by the fright of debt installed in them from their poverty-stuck up bringings. University fees have become so high that many people canââ¬â¢t afford to travel and. even with loans. commutation and adjustment can do university excessively expensive. Peoples are hence put off the thought of go oning instruction and most lack aspiration for their hereafters. An of import effect of material want is that kids leave school at 16 to get down working. This allows them to go an economic plus through supplying money to their household. alternatively of necessitating school resources for another two old ages. Hasley wanted to happen out why so many kids from working-class households leave school at 16. and looked at stuff and cultural want. They found that the chief cause was really material want. which says that itââ¬â¢s non a deficiency of civilization and intelligence that prevents childrenââ¬â¢s academic accomplishment. but economic jobs alternatively. These two signifiers of want are linked. as both are at least partly caused by deficiency of income. Cultural want includes a deficiency of educational activities within the household. For illustration trips to the theatre may be common in middle-class households. whereas the working-class opt for cheaper option of entertainment- such as telecasting. This inability to afford socially acceptable agencies of amusement purportedly affects educational accomplishment as the kids donââ¬â¢t learn complex linguistic communication.

3 Strategies for Combining Sentences
3 Strategies for Combining Sentences 3 Strategies for Combining Sentences 3 Strategies for Combining Sentences By Mark Nichol One approach to making prose more concise is to stitch together two related sentences by revising one so that it serves as a subordinate clause to the other rather than an independent statement. Here are three ways to accomplish this goal. 1. Firms are increasingly susceptible to noncompliance, as demonstrated by the stream of regulatory enforcement actions seen over recent years. These regulatory enforcement actions could have been avoided by taking an agile approach to managing the compliance requirements inventory. When a sentence repeats a noun phrase from a previous sentence, those statements are candidates for combination. Convert the second sentence to a subordinate clause, as shown here: ââ¬Å"Firms are increasingly susceptible to noncompliance, as demonstrated by the stream of regulatory enforcement actions seen over recent years- actions that could have been avoided by taking an agile approach to managing the compliance requirements inventory.â⬠2. Crafting and managing these agreements is a unique and valuable skill. This is the case because the financial risks of violating their terms can be substantial. When an assertion is supported in a subsequent sentence by a statement that provides an explanation, splice the sentences by deleting the subject from the second one, as shown here: ââ¬Å"Crafting and managing these agreements is a unique and valuable skill because the financial risks of violating their terms can be substantial.â⬠3. Uber continues to disrupt other geographies internationally, including Londonââ¬â¢s taxicab industry. Uber is now often also cited as an example of how disruptive technology is affecting established industries. When a subject is repeated in two consecutive sentences, itââ¬â¢s often possible to transform the first sentence into a parenthetical subordinate clause of the second one, as shown here: ââ¬Å"Uber, which continues to disrupt other geographies internationally, including Londonââ¬â¢s taxicab industry, is now often also cited as an example of how disruptive technology is affecting established industries.â⬠Want to improve your English in five minutes a day?
